Asteroid Mining 101

Deep Space Industries is an organization that develops next-generation spacecraft for use in theoretical (or perhaps, more accurately, anticipated) asteroid mining operations. They also occasionally publish books, including John S. Lewis’s Asteroid Mining 101.

Lewis, a Professor Emeritus of planetary science at the University of Arizona’s Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, is one of the world’s leading proponents of turning potentially disastrous Near Earth Objects into sources for economic growth—in plainer words, mining precious metals from asteroids.
